A power packed PSU, NTPC is planning to tap the primary market for its renewable business in solar, green ammonia, and green hydrogen. It will be the biggest IPO of any PSU after LIC. Issue size is projected at nearly rs 10,000 crores.
NTPC Green was incorporated in April 2022 as a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC for the renewable business of the parent company.
Q4FY2024 updates on NTPC
Following the Q4 results announcement, shares of NTPC marked the all time high of Rs 380.5 on 27th May, 2024 and was supported by a brokerage firms’ positive response to the Q4 earnings.

NTPC talked about targeting 15.2 GW orders in the conference call. NTPC said it now intends to award 10.4 GW worth of orders for thermal power projects in FY25, which is significantly higher than what was earlier being projected. The company expects commissioning of thermal power projects worth 2.8 GW in FY25, and 1.5 GW for FY26.
